MMCS Registration is still open for the 2008-2009 school year. Please complete your online registration on the MMCS Web site:

The first day of classes will be Sunday, September 7th. All language classes will go from 2-4pm. Tuition and security deposit (if applicable) are due on the first day of class for all
students. If you have any questions to clarify, please send an email to Xiaokang Cao at caoxiaokang@ yahoo.com.

Due to Mass services on Sunday at Gesu, please Do NOT Park your car at the parking lot next to the church. Thank you for your cooperation!

If you need help either to have classroom door unlocked or for any other emergency situations, please call 414-288-6800 (or 8-6800 from an internal phone), campus police officers will be there momentarily.

MCCC has formed five committees to serve members and the community through Chinese language education, culture outreach, and social engagement. The leaders are as follows:

CAO, Xiaokang, Principle of MMCS, Chair of Education Committee
Manage Milwaukee Modern Chinese School (MMCS) and its related education and outreach program
SUN, Zhenjiang, Chair of Membership and Community Service Committee
Develop membership; Lead community service engagement like Holiday Folk Fair and Chinese New Year at the Domes
ZENG, Hong, Chair of Art and Performance Committee
Lead performance troupe and showcase talents of all ages in performing arts
HONG, Yi, Chair of Communication and Public Relations Committee
Responsible for communications within MCCC community; nurture relationships with other community organizations and the general public
WANG, Xiaojing, Chair of Finance and Corporate Compliance Committee
Responsible for finance, accounting, and to be sure that MCCC follows government rules and regulations

The Beijing Ducks Basketball team has been in the Milwaukee area for training purposes. They hope to further develop their team into the powerhouse CBA team it was in the past.

-A picnic was held on August 16th at Doctor’s Park in Whitefish Bay with the Beijing Ducks. Twelve local Chinese families hosted this event in an attempt to show our support at appreciation for the team’s achievements.

-The Ducks coached and played with our Milwaukee Community on August 23 at the MSOE campus. The purpose of the training clinic is to promote friendship and national China pride through basketball with the Milwaukee Chinese community. Spectators were also treated to a very competitive game with a local college team.

The 2008 Beijing Olympics are now over, but you can still relive the opening and closing ceremonies. MCCC has purchased 80 sets of DVDs directly from CCTV Beijing. The 3 disk set includes both opening and closing ceremonies, Chinese narration, and the collectible box. Order yours through the MCCC for only $29.99. This is a first come first serve basis. The 2nd Annual Asian Festival will be held on West National Avenue (Between S. 35th and S. 41 th Street on Saturday, September 20th, 2008, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. MCCC and MMCS will have children performance and a culture exhibition there.

Wisconsin Table Tennis will present 2008 Badger Open on September 20 & 21, playing site: Center Court Sports Complex, 815 Northview Rd., Waukesha, WI 53188. Most of Chinese players without a USATT rating could participate in the Recreational event. Please contact TJ Wang at wang_tingjie@ yahoo.com for more information.

The Holiday Folk Fair (HFF) will be on the weekend of November 21 - 23, 2008. The theme of 2008 HFF is “Celebrate the Languages of Culture”. The featured food is the potato. Students and staff of the MMCS have been working on this all year long. This year’s General Chair for MCCC HFF committee is Mr. Zhenjiang Sun.
