Love from China Performance at Milwaukee ’s Alverno College happened for the first time on
Saturday, November 1st. The ecstatic audience was star-struck by
some of China ’s
elite singers and dancers. Songs like “Water Cube Legend”, “A Place Far Away”,
and “The Liuyang River” all proved nostalgic in nature. We were truly blessed
to have such talent put on such a show. The performance was organized by the “Milwaukee Chinese Times” and the MCCC Song and Dance Troupe. The
Chief Director of this event is Mr. Mingtao Jiang, the Associate Directors are
Ms. Hong Zeng and Ms. Qi Zhang. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to
make this event possible!
The Milwaukee Lantern2008, Milwaukee ’s Chinese Culture Magazine has been finished! Editor-in-Chief Connie Wu has been working with

First Planning Meeting at the Domes took place on Sunday, October 25th.
This marks the beginning of planning for our 2nd Annual Chinese New
Year at the Domes on January 24, 2009. Last year was a big success, and our
officers have started early to ensure another great display of Chinese Culture.
Mr. Zhengjiang Sun is once again heading up all efforts in this area.
Yuan Wenbin has published a new book with David B. Holmes entitled “Chinese Milwaukee” exploring timeline of the earliest Chinese immigrants to present
day Chinese Culture of Milwaukee. These 130 years of history have successfully
been captured to tell a captivating tale. Barnes N’ Nobles bookstore has
already started selling copies in stores throughout Wisconsin.
Chess Club has been created. Many thanks go to our students Joanna Huang,
Phillip Wang, and Wen An, for their hard work and leadership in initiating and
organizing this club. You can join other members of Chess Club online at
FreeChess.org. The MMCS Chess Club will play
every Monday at 7:30pm. Each game will be 25 minutes with 5-second delay, or if
